Yangon , the capital city , is the main gateway to Myanmar. Evergreen and cool with lush tropical trees , shady parks and beautiful lakes , Yangon has earned the name of the Garden City of the East. Yangon was founded by the King Alaungpaya on the site of a small village called Dagon when he conquered Lower Myanmar in 1755.The name Yangon means " End of Strife" which was anglicized to Rangoon. The present day Yangon covers over 350 sq.km. and has a population of over 5 million.

DAY-1. YANGON - BAGO - TAUNGOO

The most notable building in Yangon is the Shwedagon Pagoda , a great cone-shaped and the most famous tourist destination of Myanmar.The Pagoda itself is solid brick stupa ( Buddhist reliquary ) that is completely covered with gold. It rises 326 ft ( 100 m ) on a hill 168 ft (51 m) above the city.It was built by King Okkalapa over 2500 years ago.

DAY-2. TAUNGOO - KALAW

In the downtown area Sule pagoda is a monument which most foreign visitors pass by unnoticed.The Pagoda is known to be 157 ft high and built 2000 years ago.It's landmark of the town center.

DAY-3. KALAW - PINDAYA CAVE - INLE

The Botataung Pagoda was named after the thousand military leaders who escortd relics of Buddha brought from India over two thousand years ago.The pagoda overlooked the pleasant water front of the Yangon river.

DAY-4. INLE LAKE SIGHTSEEING

The Chaukhtatgyi pagoda is famous for it's huge image of relining Buddha , built in 1966.Original old image built in 1907.It measures about 68 meters and is housed in iron structure with corrugated iron sheets roof of six layers.The entire cost of maintenance is met from the peoples donations.

DAY-5. INLE - BAGNA (VIA MT.POPA)

National museum is located on Pyay Road in a splendid five – storey building constructed for study about Myanmar.There you can study the Lion Throne , original of the Myanmar alphabet , Myanmar history ,Royal Regalia , Culture of ancient periods , stone weapons of the Neolithic period , Ancient piece of jewelry , fossil of an anthropoid primate and more dealing culture and religious materials.

DAY-6. BAGAN SIGHTSEEING

The Market is the most popular market and a great tourist destination in Yangon.The market was first built and inaugurated on the present premises in 1926.It was named Scott Market after Mr .C .Scott the then Municipal Commissioner.There over 1000 shops selling luxury item , handicrafts , food staffs , clothing , jewelry , fashion and consumer goods.Visitor notes every Monday the market is close.

DAY-7. BAGAN - PYAY

The Kandawgyi Nature Park is excellent recreation and relaxation Zone in Yangon.Kandawgyi means " biggest Lake " , it's situated in Eastern side of great Shwedagon Pagoda.

DAY-8. PYAY - YANGON

The Karaweik Hall is located in the Kandawgyi Nature park.The golden Mythical Bird is a restaurant entertaining with traditionaldance and music in the evening.
