KYAIKHTIYO
PAGODA (GOLDEN ROCK)
Second famous Pagoda in Myanmar , about 6 hours drive
from Yangon. It situated in Kyaikhto Township in Mon state.The
sacred boulder , covered in gold leaf is balance
precariously on the very edge of cliff. The pagoda is not
only famous in the world but also famous in
Myanmar. Regular car or coaches reach only Kinpun Base
Camp at the fond of the hills , from there you will take
by open truck up to Yathay Taung . Then you will be trek
up hill about 45 minutes to the main Pagoda. The 9000
candle lighting festival is a Popular among the events
in Myanmar.
MAWLAMYINE
(MOULMINE)
Mawlamyine is the capital city and largest city in Mon
state. About 180 miles away from Yangon. The city sits on
the coast of Taninthayi. During the colonial times , the
city had a substantial Anglo- Burmese population , an
area of the city was known as " Little England". The old
Death railway is also a diverted route from Mawlamyine at
the town of Than byuzayat. There has a War Cemetery was
created by Army Graves Services who transferred to it
all (3671)graves a long the northern section of the
railway , between Mawlamyine and Thailand. There are now
3149 Commonwealth and 621 Dutch burials of the II World
War in the cemetery.
KYAING TONG
(KENGTUNG)
Kyaing Tong is the sleepy but historic capital of the
Shan state. The city is the real center of the Golden
Triangle. You can visit around the ethnic minority
villages of Akha, Lahu, Wa and Shans. All the tourist
are happy and interest to make a day return trekking
around the city.
TAUNG
OO
Taungoo was one ancient city in 15th Century , on the
way going to Mandalay, Naypyidaw and Inle Lake. Most
tourist when the make a countryside tour just stop for a
night. The city around the wood forest there you can
visit elephant working camps.
HSIBAW
Hsibaw( called Thibaw in Burmese ) was once the center
of a small northern Shan state of it's own and is
becoming a popular hangout for travelers, thanks to its
cool climate and relaxed atmosphere. Tourist enjoy to
make for a day trip from Pyin Oo Lwin to Hsibaw to see
the famous Gokteik Viaduct ,that bridge over the deep
gorge 100 years ago,the second highest railway bridge in
the world. Around the Hsibaw traveler can make a day
return trekking trip to hill peoples.
PUTAO
The city situated 457 m above the sea level. The area of
the whole district is about 3369 sq kilometer. Ther are
living in Lisu , Rawang , Khanti –shan and Jingphaw. Snow
capped mountain is in this city ,so the weather is cold
in every season. Ma Chan Baw , 19 km away from Putao ,
connected by Malikha suspension bridge which is 211m
long.Putao is the gateway to a scenic region of snow capped mountain
and wild rivers.
MYAITKYINA
Myaikyina is the largest town in Kachin State. From
Myaitkyina visitor can tour the confluence (myitson) of
Maykha and Malikha, the source of the Ayeyarwady river. There are regular flights from Yangon and Mandalay to Myitkyina.
MYEIK
(MERGUI ARCHIPELAGO)
The Myeik ( Mergui Archipelago ), located in
southernmost point of Myanmar, comprises of over 500
gorgeous islands. The Sea Gypsies live on boats during
dry season and remain on land during the rainy
season. Their ways of life and customs are so
characteristic and unique that saloone festival will be
lunched with an aim to attract international tourism as
well as to promote marine Eco-tourism around the islands
in the Myeik Archipelago. A visit to their village offers
glimpse into a unique culture. Salone traditional
Festival was held at Ma Kyone Galet village on the Bocho
Island , near the lampi Island. Around the Islands
traveler can dive with clean and blue water. |
